Common Sense

We try to teach it to our children, yet sometimes it eludes us as adults. Today was not going to be that sort of moment.

We started school off with Bible...then history (the favorite and usually reserved for the end). This week's lesson was focused on Japan. The reading was fun; however, having them work on dictations was like pulling teeth. As I sat for 30 minutes looking out at the beautiful fall day and contemplating how math was going to be, I gave up. What child in this state of mind can learn anyways? Aren't there Japanese Gardens in Dallas? Yep. That's what we're doing.

And so we did.

Needless to say they had a wonderful time.
