Time to Sit

Growing old, there comes a time when one is given the time to sit. No business... no rushing here or there... frailty prohibits much activity. It was in this time of my grandmother's life that I remember her the most. Her true character came out not through the great deeds she accomplished throughout her days, but for how she made you feel when you came to sit: like the most loved of all.

There was refuge in sitting with grandma. No judgment. No expectations. A woman who saw others as Christ sees them.A grandma who loved you for who you were.

Happy Birthday, Grandma. We miss you.

"Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised."

We were blessed with a loving example of a Proverbs 31 woman!

I loved that woman even though I didn't spend much time with her. She instantly made you feel like family-warm, loved, accepted. She's missed dearly, but the memories I have are precious jewels tucked away to be shared only at certain times. She was a GRAND woman :)

Thanks for putting this up Jodi.

Funny that I actually started a "I Miss my Grandma" post after were talking about her the other day. I couldn't finish it though.

She will always live on in my life. And may I learn to grow in my love for others and radiate that same warmth that she did.

Yes. After I wrote this I cried for awhile. But I think that's okay.

She is holding Maxwell in this picture.

I had a good cry Saturday as we drove home from Salem, on her birthday. There were not too many times I didn't stop on my way home. Just brought her to mind even more vividly. The kids and I shared some memories and Aaron wished he could have met her.
