After A Week

Today marks "one week" since the start of school. As seen from last weeks post, there are ups and downs. ;) Overall, it has been a good week.
One thing is sure, I love it so far and, so long as I keep my patience, Jake loves it too.

His favorite subjects, thus far, are Reading and History. And during playtime I have little archaeologists and nomads running around. (nothing like a little play reinforcement :)

It hit me last night as I was drawing a classification chart for the beginning of science...I love teaching! Sure, it is difficult. Yes, my patience is being refined like never before, but the joys of watching their minds grow? Priceless! Watching something "strike" him with uncontrollable laughter...or just a little giggle? unexplainable!

Here is a slide show of some of our fun times lest you think it is all filled with crying for background music.

has anyone ever told you that you have the cutest kids ever?!

How I miss them, each one, for their own special little quirks!

Give them hugs and kisses for me!

Glad your enjoying the teaching, Jodi. I can see you are made for it!
(unlike your mother-in=law!)

Your description of the joys of teaching your children is pretty much what I experienced and cherish to this day.

So if you need a little giggle when thigs are not going so well read this and tell them to try not to laugh. To my surprise it worked with Jackson. NOw that is a major accomplishment.

Quote of the day from a non-homeschooler. "If I go to hell, I will have to homeschool my children and smock.

Sounds like it would be hell for the kids too! Definitely not for everyone. ;)
