Copywork

The boys' copy-work I put together for the week. All of this "study of war" requires I teach what those people of war thought.

CC History sentence: "In 1865 General Robert E. Lee surrendered to General Ulysses S Grant at Appomattox Courthouse in Virginia."

“Although a soldier by profession, I have never felt any sort of fondness for war, and I have never advocated it, except as a means of peace.”  -Ulysses Grant.

“What a cruel thing war is...to fill our hearts with hatred instead of love for our neighbors.” -Robert E. Lee

“Wisdom is better than the weapons of war.” -Ecclesiastes 9:18

Oh, you know I love this.

I have been searching for a way to link together CC with writing. You just gave it to me.

Tell the boys that Grampy, Elle and I have been to Appomattox Courthouse and that their great-great-great Grandfather (Daniel Gibbons)was there with General Grant when General Lee surrendered:)Just a little personal connection.
