Happy Fourth!

The party went off without fail. Fun was had, fireworks were watched, and the day was an overall success.

Yes, that is Josh sporting a plastic bag for the "pie in the face" game. What a sport! His beard smelled of rotten milk for the remainder of the night. I guess I have found a drawback of beards.

The "pre-firework display was appreciated by some more than others. Jake gets a little "on edge" you could say at the thought of purposefully making things blow up.

The evening was concluded with the traditional firework watching field, a walk to Starbucks, and relaxing on the grass with the kids until the show was over. Max had me crying much of the night as he attached himself to my lap and told me he didn't want us to go. I must admit, this is one of the hardest things I have ever done in motherhood. I suppose for that I should feel blessed that a temporary parting is the worst thing I have had to endure; but, at the moment, I am dreading leaving these two precious boys. My only comfort is knowing that they will probably be better taken care of than I can do and will have more fun that we have in a year with their beloved grandparents and Aunt Kellie.

The early morning hours of the fifth were spent tossing an turning in bed with Max (who had a tummy ache) and Oliver (Josh retreated to the living room floor at some point). In the morning I headed into urgent care just to rule out strep throat. We came away from there two hours later with antibiotics for strep and an ear infection. Poor babe!

Of course, the day was supposed to be devoted to packing...which we finally got around to (and should be doing now).

Goodnight all!

Numbers 6:24-26 over your entire family

The Lord bless you and keep you,the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you, the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace!
