Imagine being accompanied to your local community event with American astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong as well as the presidential candidates Senator Obama and Senator McCain. Well, I was the lucky one yesterday!
It was a fun filled day at the downtown businesses as well as an invigorating evening of walking door to door (the candidates took a night off and refrained from door-to-door canvasing in order to allow the astronauts the opportunity of some free candy).

Neil and Buzz...all geared up after watching Apollo 13. Of course, Jake was a bit apprehensive during the movie that they wouldn't make it back. Immediately after the show their bus bed was transformed into the Odyssey.

The Senators

Buzz and Neil having a discussion over who planted the flag on the moon.

Senator Obama

Senator McCain showing a bit of leg. Pacifying himself after realizing that he is behind.

Awesome job on the costumes! We've been waiting all day to see your pictures :)
Honestly, I have been waiting all day to see the canidates dressed up for their big debut...how cute.
Did Buzz and Neil figure out who placed the flag on the moon?
Now how can I vote and choose one over the other? And I thought I knew who I wanted for president....
I'm not usually that taken with famous people but even I begged kisses off the two astronauts!
Great job, Jodi! You're amazing.
Can you teach me your magic?? I was pretty proud of my farm girls, but your costumes are AMAZING (and the cutie pies make them even better)!
Hi! I found your blog through the yahoo Eth. Adopt. group. I really want to ask you a couple of questions. Could you e-mail me?

Thanks!
So I'm not personally big on getting dressed up, but your children look adorable! Great job on the costumes Jodi, and you might have changed my mind :)
Great costumes!!!!!
Liked the bit of leg that McCain showed - hopefully it won't take him farther down! ;)
Your creativity seems to have no bounds...
Oh, I'm cracking up at the presidential candidates! I heard about your blog through a fellow adoptive family!
This is the cutest thing on the planet (and moon)!
Hey, have your little astronauts seen "In the Shadow of the Moon"? It's a newer documentary interviewing the astronauts with footage from their journeys... we really enjoyed it.
What an adorable costume idea!
